Star Wars: Chewbacca Actor Continues to Support #MakeSolo2Happen

When Solo: A Star Wars Story hit its one-year anniversary a few weeks ago, Twitter was bombarded with tweets about #MakeSolo2Happen in an attempt to get Lucasfilm to greenlight a sequel. Some people involved with the movie have been supportive, and it looks like Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo is right onboard.

Besides Suotamo, the movement got the attention from director Ron Howard as well as writer Jon Kasdan. Kasdan even revealed that the sequel would have dealt with a war taking place between the criminal syndicates Crimson Dawn, the Hutt Cartel, and the Pykes. With the main films usually dealing with the conflict between the Rebels and the Empire, I would have loved to have the focus shift to the criminal underbelly of the franchise.

For now, fans are hoping that Solo 2 could at least be a Disney+ series with the actors returning, but I would love the spectacle of a full-blown movie. Then again, we still have no idea what to expect from a production of a live-action Star Wars series. I guess we'll find out when Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian comes out on Nov. 12.

The only Star Wars movie coming out this year is The Rise of Skywalker, and it hits theaters Dec. 20.
