Star Wars’ Cassian Andor Series Reportedly To Begin Production Soon

Ever since Star Wars: The Mandalorian completed its first season on Disney+, fans have been wondering about the next project that Lucasfilm might release on Disney's new streaming site. The studio may have announced the development of a couple of new series like the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spinoff focused entirely on Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the series focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), however, there's been very little word on when fans might be able to expect the shows on Disney+.

While both projects have yet to receive a release date from Lucasfilm, a new update on the Rogue One spinoff reveals that production may begin very soon for the series. According to a new report by Production List, Lucasfilm is preparing to begin production on its Captain Cassian Andor series this June. The project is reportedly set to head into production on June 1, aligning with previous rumors that work on the series would begin this year.

This is pretty great news for Star Wars fans. Everyone's been looking forward to Lucasfilm's Disney+ releases, hoping to get on the next Star Wars binge after seeing The Mandalorian. Launching on Disney+ back in November last year, Jon Favreau's live-action Star Wars series was nothing short of a success for Lucasfilm. Not only did the series wow critics, but it also charmed fans, uniting a fanbase fractured by dissenting opinions on films like Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

We're hoping that the Captain Cassian Andor series is just going to be as successful as the Mandalorian. Let's wait and see.
