We're all (im)patiently waiting for The Mandalorian Season 3 and although the details about the upcoming season have not yet been revealed, it looks like we'll be getting more of Greef Karga. Carl Weathers is hyping up his return as the leader of the Bounty Hunters' Guild in the third season and he says Karga is getting "more action" next year!
It's no secret that Greef Karga was an awesome part of the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. In the first season, he was a huge help to Din Djarin and continued to help Mando and Grogu in the Season 2 episode The Siege. So it's no surprise that Carl Weathers is confirming Karga's return in the third season will be just as cool.
“Oh there was a bit more [action], I think, in this one,” Weathers told Empire. He then added that it’s “a little different [to The Siege] because a lot of it had a lot more scope. But this one also had many, many different kinds of stories within the story, and that's really nice.”
We're already hoping that Carl Weathers will be directing another episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 and this is something that he is truly excited about because of his love for filmmaking.
“I love directing. It's my passion. This show gives you so much opportunity to deal with all these different characters,” Weathers said.
“Even though they're different episodes, it's not like typical episodic television – it's not a whodunnit, it's not a dark comedy, it's not a procedural. It's so many different things, and it's action-adventure on top of that. As a director, you get a chance to exercise your talent, and also your ability to deliver in those different areas,” he concluded.
For now, it is unclear how many episodes Greef Karga will appear in. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to seeing Carl Weathers in action again next year.
The Mandalorian Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date but is already expected to premiere on Disney+ in early 2023.
