Star Wars Battlefront II's Janina Gavankar Joins Ben Affleck's Next Film with Ex-Suicide Squad 2 Director

Janina Gavankar played the role of lead Iden Versio in Star Wars Battlefront II, and now she's moving back to live-action with ex Suicide Squad 2 director Gavin O'Connor. What's more, she's going to be starring opposite Batman actor Ben Affleck.

As per Deadline, Gavankar has been cast as the ex-wife of Affleck's character in Torrance (formerly known as The Has Been). Affleck's character is said to be someone who has ‘lost his wife and family foundation' so we can imagine that Gavankar will have a substantial role in the film. We don't know how much of the movie she's going to be in, but I'm sure this is a boost up for her career to co-star with someone like Affleck.

Though we have no confirmation that Affleck is going to work on Matt Reeves' Batman, it may not have any clash with him deciding to work on Torrance. Rumor has it that the movie is set to start shooting very soon—this month, in fact—and with that in mind, filming could wrap before the year ends; with enough time for Affleck to star in Batman which is set to begin production sometime next year.

Star Wars Battlefront II may not have opened with the best numbers, but I thought that Gavankar absolutely nailed it in the game. I'm actually kind of bummed that not everyone loved it at launch, because if it did, everyone would be talking about Iden just as much as they did with Rey, Qi'Ra, or Jyn Erso.

No release date has been set for Torrance.
