Star Wars Battlefront II Update That Adds BB-8 Has Been Delayed

EA and DICE have announced that the Star Wars Battlefront II update that adds BB-8 has been delayed. Before fans start getting angry, they should know that it will not be a huge delay and they will get access to the update early next week. Still, those who were hoping to get BB-8 do have the right to be disappointed since it was promised to them and the update was supposed to come out tomorrow.

On the Battlefront forums, the developers announced the delay for this Battlefront II update. Apparently, there was a critical issue that was discovered and it forced the developers to delay the update for a whole week. They haven't detailed what the issue is but they stated that it is a disappointing yet common thing to discover when developing game content, so that's a shame.

The developers promised a new release window soon, which shouldn't take too long since the update is supposed to come out early next week. Aside from new heroes BB-8 and BB-9E, there are also a number of planned adjustments for existing characters who are a bit too powerful in the game. For example, this update will prevent Darth Vader from blocking while doing a Force Choke.

While the delay sucks, it's good that they discovered the issue and didn't release it to the public. Lord knows what would have happened to the game had it come out, as some bugs can ruin the overall experience. They did say it was a critical issue after all so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
