Classic Star Wars Battlefront is Free for Xbox Games With Gold Subscribers Next Month

While EA and DICE have made Star Wars Battlefront II a much better game than it originally was during launch, many still prefer the classic Battlefront games that didn't rely on DLC or need a year's worth of updates to be good. It looks like older fans with an Xbox One are in luck since the classic Star Wars Battlefront will be free as part of the Xbox Games With Gold service.

Star Wars Battlefront joins TT Isle of Man, Call of Cthulhu, and Fable Heroes as the "free" Xbox Games With Gold for next month. Battlefront will be available in the last few weeks of February, becoming free from February 16 till the 29th. The game should be a good time for those that either grew up with classic Battlefront, love Star Wars, or both.

Thanks to a number of multiplayer modes, many fans still have fond memories of Star Wars Battlefront and its sequel. It was fun taking part in these massive battles, with a lot of fans even enjoying some of the single-player stuff, even if most people saw it as an extended tutorial for the online shooter.

EA is still trying to replicate the success of older Star Wars Battlefront games and they seem to be succeeding, at least for now. Star Wars Battlefront II is an actual good game now, even if it took such a long time to get there.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
