Star Wars Battlefront II: New Details on Upcoming Heroes BB-8 and BB-9E

Star Wars Battlefront II players are getting some new heroes this month in the form of BB-8 and BB-9E, and though we haven't had any official trailer or announcement of their abilities, we have some few details on how they will play in the game.

As confirmed by community manager F8RGE on Reddit (via BattlefrontUpdates), the movement of the droids is going to be comparable to that of the Droideka's ball mode, meaning they're going to move pretty fast. What's also interesting is the difference in play-style of both characters. BB-8 is supposed to be the more offensive hero while BB-9E is going to be more supportive.

For now everyone is still wondering as to what the status of these upcoming ‘heroes' are going to be—whether they're going to be special units or have the same status as that of Rey or Emperor Palpatine. It's going to be weird seeing BB-8 defeat someone like Darth Vader, but at the same time, I'm sure some will think that would be amazing to play out in the game.

We have yet to get an official release date when it comes to these upcoming hero droids, but the best bet is they will come by the end of the month. Hopefully we can get some kind of trailer drop in the coming few weeks, because it's been weird the past year with characters coming to the game with no proper promotion.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
