Star Wars Battlefront II: New Details on Incoming Game Mode, Capital Supremacy

Though it did get delayed for over a month, this coming 26th will see the release of a new game mode coming to Star Wars Battlefront II called Capital Supremacy. The mode promises to bring back two key elements from the original Battlefront games—capture points and capital ship takedowns.

According to the official community transmission, the mode will start out on the planet side with players attempting to capture several capture points to gain reinforcements. Once you get enough reinforcements, your team is now free to fly to the enemy capital ship and take it down from the inside. If the team fails, then the fight resumes on the planet. The game officially ends when one of the capital ships is destroyed.

For now this game mode is going to focus on the Clone Wars era, so we shouldn't expect any Rebels or Resistance soldiers taking on star destroyers. This game mode will also introduce two new types of reinforcements—the ARC troopers and the commando droids, both come with their own special skills never-before-seen in the game.

After a terrible launch in 2017, DICE has now made good with their promise to keep live service for Battlefront II. Admittedly the game still has some kinks to work out, but it's way better than what players got at launch. Hopefully they have some new content incoming related to Star Wars Episode IX.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PC, and PS4. The new game mode arrives March 26.
