Star Wars Battlefront II Devs Tease the Upcoming TROS Content Later This Year

Lucasfilm has just dropped some new The Rise of Skywalker footage from D23, and a lot of people are once again hyped for the end of the Sequel Trilogy. What's cool is, Star Wars Battlefront II is also going to come up with some TROS expansions, and they're teasing the arrival later this year.

This comes from Battlefront community manager Ben Walke:

So far, the only details we know about the TROS expansion is that it will feature a new map and some new troops. I'm almost sure that we're going to get playable Sith Troopers, but I would also be down for Praetorian Guards or the Knights of Ren. I don't know what can be given to the Resistance, but maybe they can have a new type of ship instead.

Fingers crossed we also get new skins for Rey, Finn, and Kylo, but I think the community also wants skins for Sequel era Han, Luke, and Leia.

This is also a new tidbit, but talking to Games Industry, Battlefront design director Dennis Brannvall has teased that the TROS expansion could be one of the biggest to come to Battlefront II so far. The devs are "putting a significant amount of effort into it," he says.

After a disastrous 2017 launch, DICE has managed to win back the community with Star Wars Battlefront II. While the community is growing, the game still needs a new type of revenue to generate income, and after the whole fallout with the loot boxes, DICE is probably looking for some alternative solutions; hopefully, solutions that the fanbase will be fine with.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
