Star Wars Battlefront II: Count Dooku Releasing Earlier than Expected

The drops of characters like Obi-Wan and General Grievous came at the very ends of the month, but this January will see an early release for a new character Count Dooku. What's great is, we don't have to wait until the end of January to get our hands on him.

According to the community calendar posted by EA, the Darth Tyranus (a.k.a. Count Dooku) update will launch on January 23. Dooku comes with one extra skin called Dark Ritual, and he'll also drop with a new trooper skin for the Coruscant Guard.

We don't have a solid move list on Dooku yet, but my guess is that he's going to be a lightsaber hero who has the ability to use Force Lightning. We already know how overwhelming Palpatine can get when he zaps you, but maybe they'll tone it down for Dooku to balance him out.

What's also cool about Dooku is that some data miners have found his fight animations and he looks to be a more elegant fighter when it comes to his style. In my opinion, he moves like a fancy swordmaster, with one hand on his back and his moves stabbing at the enemy.

Some fans are actually surprised that Dooku even gets a second skin at all. Some guess that this look is going to come from the Clone Wars when Dooku does a ‘dark ritual' with Palpatine. Here's hoping that they drop a Jedi Dooku look somewhere down the line.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Count Dooku drops on Jan. 23.
