Live service is continuing for Star Wars Battlefront II, and today sees the arrival of a new game mode called Capital Supremacy. The mode introduces two new reinforcements for the clones and the droids, and we have new images of them in-game (plus the new ‘pyjama' skin that's been promised for Count Dooku).
Check them out:
You can also check out some gameplay for both the ARC trooper and the commando droid:
The ARC trooper is actually the first reinforcement in the game that has dual weapons, and he can actually fire each pistol independently. I can't help but think this mechanic is going to be used for a playable Jango Fett in the future. Nothing's been confirmed, but fans can't help but think.
The BX droid, on the other hand, has a special melee weapon that functions pretty much like Phasma's spear strike. It also has a smokescreen ability that plays out pretty much like Lando Calrissian's.
As for Dooku's new look, I thought it was kind of silly at first, but it does give off the feeling that he's some kind of swashbuckler from an old film. It's not really the skin that everyone asked for, but I guess a lot of people would still find it has its own unique flair when it's brought into the battlefield.
For now, players are enjoying the arrival of the new game mode. We don't really know what's coming for the rest of the year, but hopefully, we get an official announcement come Star Wars Celebration.
Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
