With January seeing the drop of Count Dooku, Anakin Skywalker will be the hero in the spotlight come February. We don't have any official teaser of him in the game yet, but we do have some early animation for the Chosen One when he comes to the game.
Check him out:
When it comes to figuring out Anakin's movement, Battlefront II animator Mattias Kirsten had this to say:
"It was interesting to see that Anakin is so good with a lightsaber that he seems to forego certain basic fighting practices. For example, he actually doesn't use a lot of footwork, he's more planted at a certain spot, while moving his lightsaber in a very skilled manner."
Kirsten also goes on to talk about how he wanted the movement to portray how Anakin had this inner rage within himself. Since they didn't want that to show in a Light Side hero, it's said that they've made it so that Anakin's emotions are somewhat evident with his attacks by making them slightly wide. At some cases Anakin's saber even hits the floor and makes sparks fly (literally).
We don't have a full look at Anakin yet, but hopefully DICE will be able to release a teaser before his release on the 27th. Though I was happy to see Dooku come to the game, I was kind of bummed that we never really got a trailer to hype up his arrival. Hopefully DICE has been able to coordinate better with approvals so that we can get our Anakin teaser before he comes to the game.
Anakin Skywalker drops Feb. 27. Star Wars Battlefront II is currently playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
