Anakin Skywalker finally arrives to Star Wars Battlefront II this Wednesday, and EA has given us a good breakdown of his abilities and skills. Despite being said to be one of the most powerful heroes to come to the game, Anakin is actually the first hero to have a total of four skills in his arsenal.
According to the official community transmission, Anakin's skills are:
Passionate Strike
Anakin unleashes a heavy strike, breaking his opponent's guard and dealing high damage.
Heroic Impact
Anakin is more resistant to attack while holding the ability. When released, he pushes enemies away from him, the range and strength of his attack being multiplied by the damage he would typically be susceptible to.
Pull Dominance
Anakin pulls enemies in front of him to a center point, leaving them open for attacks.
Retribution
Anakin's powers intensify whenever he and any nearby allies are attacked, building towards the ultimate punishment of a swift and inescapable grip seizing all enemies around him.
So far the Light Side has been left overpowered by the Dark Side heroes since the last update, and DICE seeks to bring balance with the arrival of Anakin. I wouldn't be too sold on his arrival though. Just like with the other heroes, I'm sure Anakin is going to be subject to several more tweaks once more players are able to get their hands on him.
As a special gift to the community, the Anakin update also comes with free 60k credits from the devs, and that's free for the players to do with as they please; you can either buy Anakin with the updates, or a bunch of other skins. If you're new to the game, you can probably get some of the newer heroes between Obi-Wan, Grievous, and Count Dooku.
Anakin Skywalker arrives Feb. 27. Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
