Star Wars Theory Suggests Palpatine Created Anakin Skywalker To Achieve Immortality

We already know that Anakin Skywalker would eventually become Darth Vader but it looks like there was one person who could have prevented the boy's descent into the Dark Side. Could things truly have been different if one Star Wars character continued to watch over Anakin as he trained as a Jedi?

A post on Reddit suggests that Anakin Skywalker could have been saved by Qui-Gon Jinn. After all, the Jedi Master has always been one of the most respected characters in the Star Wars Universe but the theory purports that it was more than that. It is pointed out that Qui-Gon understood what it truly meant for Anakin to bring Balance to the Force in the comic book Star Wars: Age of Republic - Qui-Gon Jinn #1.

In the comics, Qui-Gon actually communed with the Force amidst the Jedi's crisis of fate and made a surprising discovery. In his vision, he senses the Light Side and the darkness that it meant to balance it. Interestingly, the darkness was driven back when Qui-Gon awoke from the vision, confirming that the Light will triumph and could only return true "balance, but through a means beyond conflict."

It certainly makes sense and although it is too late to save Anakin, there is still a chance for Rey and Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. After all, both have a certain darkness in them. Perhaps although Qui-Gon was never able to guide Anakin, there is still hope this December.
