Star Wars: Ahsoka Casts The Expanse Star Wes Chatham in Pivotal Role


This August, the upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka will finally premiere and fans have been looking forward to seeing the character's live-action solo adventure as well as picking up where things left off by the end of Rebels as teased by the trailer that they released.

During the recent Star Wars Celebration event, Lucasfilm revealed more interesting details about the series including the official casting reveal of Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, reprising the role from the animated series, as well as several other reveals.

Now, we have yet again another casting update on the series as Deadline has confirmed that The Expanse star Wes Chatham is joining the cast of Ahsoka. He is playing the right-hand man to Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Besides the aforementioned Mikkelsen, the ensemble of the series already includes Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordazzo, Eman Esfandi, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Hayden Christensen, Ivanna Sakhno, Ray Stevenson, Genevieve O'Reilly, David Tennant, and Diana Lee Inosanto.

Dave Filoni wrote all episodes and also directed them alongside Peter Ramsey, Steph Green, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa. Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Carrie Beck, and Colin Wilson are also part of the executive producing team besides Filoni.

Chatham is known for playing Amos Burton in the hit science-fiction series The Expanse so this is not his first rodeo in the space realm. He also played Castor in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay films and appeared in other movies such as Tenet and The Help.

While we don't have more specific details regarding the role that Chatham is playing, it is intriguing nonetheless to hear that he'll be Thrawn's right-hand man which already reveals which side he is in the battle and it would be curious to see how his character will play into the overall story.
