Kelly Marie Tran's Star Wars journey didn't exactly turn out as she hoped it would with her character Rose Tico becoming one of the most despised characters in all of the franchise, which is quite ironic considering she's supposed to be one of the good guys. But with Lucasfilm's expansion via the hit streaming service Disney+, there's actually a chance that Rose could make her way back in the saga which will focus on her own story.

In a recent interview with Collider, Tran opened up about a potential Star Wars spinoff show revolving around the divisive character who also happens to be Finn's love interest. The idea was first brought up by Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu who said in a previous interview that he'd be down to helming a Rose Tico-centric series over at Disney+. She shared: "He's so cool. I don't know. I honestly don't know. It's so strange. I had so much fun being in that world but I feel like the pieces would have to fall into a perfect little puzzle and everything would have to feel like it's the right time and the right moment and the right story, like with any other project. But I don't know."

She also says that she feels like Rose and other characters from the franchise have more stories to tell. Tran added: "Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I think there are a lot of characters in that universe that we have yet to hear enough about."

Rose is definitely one polarizing figure but I've always believed it's not Tran's portrayal that is to be blamed. The character has been mishandled from the get-go, not to mention poorly written and instead of putting her in a more pivotal role, she was paired with Finn, another character who had tremendous potential to be as great as the other characters in a love angle nobody asked for. That being said, the idea of Tran being in her own series could do wonders for the Rose Tico character and that could just be the redemption arc she so desperately needs. It's still up to Disney though.
