The conclusion of the Skywalker saga seemingly ended Daisy Ridley's Star Wars journey and while the actress has stated in previous interviews that she may no longer return as Rey in the franchise, fans aren't holding out hope that they'll one day see Rey (Skywalker) again. Now, Lucasfilm may be focusing on the Mandoverse as of the moment but somewhere down the line, you know for sure that a brand new chapter in Star Wars lore will be explored and it's only a matter of time before it happens.
As it turns out, fans may not have to wait any longer to see Daisy back in the franchise. In an exclusive scoop, Giant Freakin Robot claims that Ridley and Lucasfilm have been in close contact and are discussing a potential comeback for the character. The site didn't exactly specify what project the actress could potentially be taking on but it's safe to say that it will take place post-Skywalker saga. A possible prequel exploring the life of a young Rey shouldn't be ruled out as well.
Of course, just like any rumor, take this one with a Death Star-sized grain of salt but if you'd ask me, I think it would a good move to bring her back especially now that the franchise has expanded through Disney+. While the Mandoverse is keeping the franchise afloat, Lucasfilm can't rely on it forever and there will come a point where its story needs to also be concluded to make way for the present-day Star Wars. Also, let's be real here. Daisy deserves a shot at redemption as Rey.
Meanwhile, the entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
