Star Wars Actor John Boyega Reveals How Sequel Trilogy Castmates Supported Him During Finn Backlash

He might be a huge star these days but it isn't always easy for John Boyega. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor revealed that he had to deal with negative fan reactions when he was first cast as Finn in the sequel trilogy films. However, Boyega revealed that he received overwhelming support from his castmates.

Boyega recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight where he stated that the cast of Star Wars has always been very supportive of him.

"Full support, full support. I got a text message from Daisy. I mean, we talk all the time," Boyega said. "But, to be fair, I'm really close with my castmates. Specifically, Oscar [Isaac], Daisy, myself and Kelly [Marie Tran] all had very loving and transparent conversations that I will never forget for the rest of my career."

Not surprisingly, that bond made it easier for his co-stars to understand Boyega when he began supported the Black Lives Matter movement.

"We were all already speaking about things, so me saying this wasn't really a shock to them. They did text me to say they support me," he said.

It's great to know that the cast of the Star Wars sequel trilogy were more than just co-stars and became good friends in the end. Hopefully, we'll get to see them together again in the future.
