The DC Extended Universe is being rumored to have a major shakeup in 2022 with reports claiming that the Justice League lineup will end up getting changed following the events of Ezra Miller's standalone The Flash film. WarnerMedia pretty much confirmed that a Superman reboot is happening with Star Wars director J.J. Abrams at the helm but much to the surprise of fans, the upcoming project won't feature Henry Cavill's return as the Man of Steel and will instead introduce fans to a brand new Superman.

We reported last February that the supposed reboot will be set in the DCEU with the studio eyeing a person of color to play Superman. While it hasn't been confirmed yet, the franchise's new Superman could either be Calvin Ellis or Val Zod. Now, fans are lobbying for Star Wars actor John Boyega to join the DC universe after his equally controversial and successful Lucasfilm stint.

Digital artist @subi.ozil even hyped up the potential casting of Boyega as the next Superman in an awesome artwork. Taking to his Instagram page, the artist recently unveiled a stunning image depicting the Finn actor as Val Zod and I gotta say, it totally works. Check it out here:

When you think about it, Boyega would be the perfect casting choice for the role because he embodies everything the Man of Steel stands up for. Not only that, but this could definitely serve as the actor's redemption story after his issues with Disney and Lucasfilm downplaying his role and other POC characters. And despite the fact that he compared being in a huge film franchise to being locked in prison, I don't think he'll pass up the opportunity to play Superman on the big screen.

Other details about the Superman reboot are still being kept under wraps.
