Star Trek's Brannon Braga Teaming Up with Seth McFarlane for Clive Barker's Books of Blood Film

It looks like Hulu has found creative talents who are ready to work on its most complicated project so far. Star Trek's Brannon Braga and The Orville's Seth McFarlane have just been confirmed to team up for a new film based on Clive Barker's horrifying Books of Blood.

The report comes from Deadline, which confirms that Braga will serve as co-writer, executive producer, and director of the planned film. McFarlane will also serve as an executive producer.

It might seem like an ambitious project considering that there are six books to consider and some of the stories have already been adapted into films. However, it looks like the new movie will be a loose adaptation of the 2009 movie Book of Blood. The original film had actually adapted The Book of Blood and On Jerusalem Street (A Postscript), which were the framing stories of the book series

The film will star Anna Friel (Marcella), Britt Robertson (For the People), Rafi Gavron (A Star Is Born), and Yul Vazquez (Midnight, Texas). Friel will portray Mary, a woman who becomes convinced by a con artist (Gavron) that he can speak to her dead child. Robertson has been cast as Jenna, a young woman who runs away from home after learning that she will be sent to the "Farm" while Vazquez is a professional hitman in search of a mysterious book.

The new film has not yet been given an official production start date or a release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
