Star Trek: Prodigy is an upcoming American animated series expanding the already vast universe, and they finally break the news that two of the main villains of the show have been cast with John Noble from Fringe as the Diviner, and Jimmi Simpson from Westworld as Drednok.
In an official statement from Star Trek: Prodigy, the revelation of the two villains comes with the description of who these main villains would be and they would be tracking down the Protostar whatever the cost may be.
The Diviner, to be voiced by John Noble, is introduced as the ruthless tyrant who is holding the controls of the asteroid Tars Lamora wherein he exploits the species living there and will do everything in his power to hunt down the Protostar ship. His goals are expected to be full of mysteries and he created a progeny, Gwyn, to carry his mission given his body is deteriorating.
Drednok, on the other hand, would be voiced by Jimmi Simpson, and he would be the deadly robotic enforcer of The Diviner. He is heartless, ruthless, and cold with the sole purpose of keeping the task the Diviner has given to him: to find the protostar. He has no friends and his only reason for existence is to do the will of the Diviner with his menacing spider-like form.
John Noble and Jimmi Simpson will be joining the voice cast of Star Trek: Prodigy with Brett Gray, Rylee Alazraqui, Ella Purnell, Dee Bradley Baker, Jason Mantzoukas, Angus Imrie, and Kate Mulgrew. The CG-Animated series would be the first Star Trek series made for younger children and it would be making its way through the streaming service of Paramount+ and the cable TV network of Nickelodeon.
Star Trek: Prodigy will be set in the year 2383 following the events of Star Trek: Voyager where the motley crew of young aliens would be learning to work together utilizing an abandoned starship looking for some adventure in the Delta Quadrant.
Star Trek: Prodigy is expected to debut this year, 2021, on Paramount+ with 10 episodes for the whole season.
