Star Trek: Picard Sets New Streaming Record For CBS All Access

Star Trek: Picard premiered Thursday last week and it looks like the brand new Star Trek series marked a brand new record for CBS.

Picard has been a major win for CBS All Acess. Featuring the return of Star Trek legend Patrick Stewart, the series was well-received by fans and by critics, enjoying a 95% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only that, but a report by Tech Crunch reveals that the premiere of the series drove the highest volume of subscribers to use CBS All Access to stream the series.

According to the site, Picard was picked up by more than 115% of the site's total streams, a huge number when compared to the site's first record created by another Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery. It was also up by 180% when compared to Discovery's prior record for subscribers streaming an original from CBS All Access.

This is pretty good news for Picard. We're glad to see that the show is doing well, and we can't wait to see the next few episodes of the series. For those who haven't been following the news, Picard has Stewart reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard. The series is set 18 years after the events of the last Star Trek: The Next Generation movie, Star Trek: Nemesis. It features other Star Trek alum including Data actor Brent Spiner, Seven of Nine actress Jeri Ryan, Troi actress Marina Sirtis, and Riker actor Jonathan Frakes.

Star Trek: Picard airs episodes every Thursday on CBS All Access.
