Star Trek: Picard Episode 7 Preview Teases Will Riker Reunion

Have you been hoping to see Jonathan Frakes' return as Will Riker on Star Trek: Picard? Luckily, it's about to happen next week. The preview for Episode 7 has just confirmed that Jean-Luc Picard will finally be reunited with his old friend.

The preview for Nepenthe isn't exactly comforting at first. It starts off with Hugh being blamed for Picard escaping with Soji Asha. In addition to that, Picard isn't very hopeful considering their current predicament. "I'm in over my head," he says. "When I left Earth, I had a plan, I had a ship, I even had a crew." Sadly, he has none of these right now.

Picard isn't the only one who is conflicted about the impromptu escape. "This whole thing, how do I know it's not another game?" Soji asks. Luckily, Picard knows exactly what to say. "You can trust me," he assures her.

The teaser also offers a glimpse at Elnor having to deal with a bunch of angry Borg, having chosen to stay in the Borg Cube instead of fleeing with Picard and Soji (I'm still wondering why he would decide on something like that). Nevertheless, there is hope at the end of the preview. "Hello Will," Picard says with a smile as the confused Riker looks up from his work.

Frakes had previously directed two episodes of Picard but has yet to show up as Riker in the series. This is about to change and we can't wait to see his return in Nepenthe.

Star Trek: Picard Episode 7 will air on CBS All Access on March 5.
