Star Trek: Picard Episode 5 Reveals Shocking Truth About Seven of Nine

The latest episode of Star Trek: Picard has everything: humor, action, suspense, mystery, and a lot of Seven of Nine. However, Stardust City Rag also revealed a side of Jeri Ryan's character that fans had already suspected but never expected to see.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers from Star Trek: Picard Episode 5! Proceed with caution!

The previous episode already confirmed that Seven would be a major part of Stardust City Rag. So it's no surprise that her story is revisited as she and Jean-Luc Picard reconnect on their way to Freecloud. It is revealed that there is a black market for Borg parts and Seven's adoptive child Icheb had been mercilessly harvested, forcing her to euthanize him. With that out of the way, we get suspicious when she claims she is looking for a former ally named Bjayzl on Freecloud.

We already know where this is going and Picard himself isn't comfortable with Seven's planned vigilantism. Nevertheless, he allows her to join them on the search for Bruce Maddox and that's when the truth is revealed. Bjayzl was actually one of Seven's former Rangers who chose to go into the black market and she's out to take him down as revenge.

At first, it looks like Picard was able to convince Seven to return to their ship and that revenge will not take away the trauma of losing Icheb. However, at the last minute, she beams away back into Freecloud and kills Bjayzl and his thugs.

It's an amazing episode that confirms Seven has embraced her human side although the side she chose was the anger that comes with humanity. On a lighter note, it was awesome to see Ryan in action and it would be great to see more of Seven in the future.
