The Borg Queen was the entity that existed in the central nexus of the Borg Collective. Federation scientists Erin Hansen and Magnus gave her the name Borg Queen after discovering her existence. This occurred in VOY: Dark Frontier.
There are multiple yet identical Borg Queens from VOY: Dark Frontier, Star Trek: First Contact, Endgame, Unimatrix Zero, and Unimatrix Zero, Part II. In the 2380s, one of the Borg cubes had a queencell, containing the spatial trajector that is reserved for the Queen in case of emergency.

The Borg Queen is characterized as ruthless. She is willing to do anything in her might to protect the Borg Collective. Drones particularly showed no emotions, but the queen herself has. If necessary, she will use psychological tactics such as intimidation or extortion just to get what she wants.
