Star Trek: Discovery's Doug Jones Wants to Play MCU's Silver Surfer

There is little doubt that Marvel Studios is eager to introduce Silver Surfer into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what are the chances that Norrid Radd will be played by the same actor from Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer? Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 actor Doug Jones has just admitted that he would like to continue playing the beloved Marvel comic book hero in the MCU.

There have been speculations that Silver Surfer is one of the major characters who will eventually get introduced into the MCU now that Disney has acquired Fox. However, if it does happen, it is possible that Marvel Studios will choose a new actor to take on the role. Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped Jones from admitting to Comicbook.com that he is hoping that the studio would call him instead.

"If they were going to bring the Silver Surfer back to film, [if] it was offered to me, I would jump at the chance," Jones said. He then shared his thoughts about portraying the character.

"I loved playing him. He was so heroic and angelic and Christ-like even. He's the kind of superhero that I want to be in my real life. And beautiful. He had the best ass I've ever had on film. So if I could play him again, I would jump at the chance, sure," Jones said.

It's easy to understand why Jones loved being Silver Surfer. On the other hand, we would like to point out that his character in The Shape of Water had the best cinematic ass so far.

It's still unclear if Jones will reprise his role as Silver Surfer in the MCU. In the meantime, you can see him as Saru in Star Trek: Discovery Season 3, which airs on CBS All Access every Thursday.
