There is little doubt that Grudge the Cat is one of the most lovable new characters who was introduced in Star Trek: Discovery. But how did the adorable feline come to be Cleveland 'Book' Booker's most loyal companion? Queen Grudge's origins will finally be revealed in a new Star Trek comic book miniseries that will also explore the backstories of other members of the Discovery crew!
IDW Publishing has just confirmed Star Trek: Discovery -- Adventures in the 32nd Century, the new miniseries that will put the focus on a different character from the series. Naturally, Queen Grudge the Cat will get the debut comic while subsequent issues will shine the spotlight on Ensign Adira Tal, Lieutenant Keyla Detmer, and Science Officer Linus.
Kirsten Beyer and Mike Johnson will write the series while Angel Hernandez will provide its art. All creative minds have previously worked with Star Trek.
It's no surprise that Grudge is going to be the first Discovery character that we'll be learning more about in Adventures in the 32nd Century. Trekkies instantly fell in love with the queenly feline when she was introduced in the series. Needless to say, it's been a long wait for Queen Grudge to get the attention she deserves but it's all worth it.
Grudge's special issue will reveal what happened to the cat before the events in Star Trek: Discovery. It is set to show fans how Grudge met Book and forged an extraordinary bond that remains strong to this day.
Star Trek: Discovery -- Adventures in the 32nd Century has not yet been given an official release date. However, the new comic book miniseries is expected to be available next year. In the meantime, fans can see more of Grudge in Star Trek: Discovery Season 4, which airs every Thursday on Paramount+.
