Actress Laura Haddock will be returning as Meredith Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but did you know that she's actually starred in a Marvel movie way before the first Guardians of the Galaxy?
As it turns out, Haddock actually had a small role in Captain America: The First Avenger. She played the girl who wanted Steve Rogers' autograph during the Star-Spangled Man with a Plan montage. The IMDb page credits her as "Autograph Seeker".
Granted this isn't the first time that Marvel has cast an actress in an alternate role despite already having a character in the universe. Alfre Woodard, who plays the villain Maria Dillard in Luke Cage appeared as Miriam Sharpe in Captain America: Civil War.
Sure Marvel probably had no idea that Haddock would be playing a significant role in a Marvel movie three years later, but they could probably just pass off the character as Peter Quill's great-grandmother or something.
On a side note, before she got noticed as Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, Natalie Dormer was also flirting with Captain America in First Avenger. Check it out:
