Avengers: Endgame might have been one of Stan Lee's last cameos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, the Marvel comic book legend didn't even get a chance to see any sort of cut of the film before his passing.
Stan the Man passed away in November last year after experiencing cardiac arrest with respiratory failure and congestive heart failure and the news broke the hearts of fans, friends, and family around the globe. Lee wasn't just a major player in the comic book industry – he was a pop culture icon who genuinely loved his fans.
Now, speaking with fans during a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) Q & A session on Reddit, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reveals how much of Endgame the comic book legend was able to see before his passing last year.
Unfortunately, Lee wasn't able to see any sort of cut of the film because he wanted to see Endgame during its premiere. However, the comic book writer and publisher was able to receive a copy of the movie's full story the day he shot his cameo.
"Stan loved to wait to see the final movie at the premiere, so unfortunately he did not get to see the finished movie. Stan got a download of the full story the day he came and shot his cameo," Feige answered.
It's heartbreaking learning how Stan never got to see Endgame. The Marvel Cinematic Universe was Lee's baby as much as it was Marvel Studios. The Cameo King deserved to see the film culminating the last ten years of the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
