Squid Game Star Jung Ho Yeon Lands Role in Director Alfonso Cuarón's New Series, Disclaimer

Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon will officially start her Hollywood journey after her successful debut in the South Korean series.

In November, the model-turned-actress signed an exclusive contract with Creative Artists Agency for her global acting projects. It has been said that the actress ended up with CAA despite numerous agencies’ attempts to cast her, her co-stars, and director Hwang Dong-Hyuk after Squid Game’s historic feat.

Months after securing her partnership, Jung Ho Yeon has been tapped to become part of a new AppleTV+ series.

Jung Ho Yeon To Make Hollywood Debut In Disclaimer

Variety first reported on Thursday that Jung Ho Yeon became the latest addition to the cast members list of Alfonso Cuarón’s upcoming Apple TV+ series, Disclaimer. She would then work with several award-winning stars in the series, including cate Blanchett, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Kevin Kline.

Disclaimer is based on the novel of the same name written by Renee Knight. The thriller series will explore the life of a successful television documentary journalist who feels afraid when she finds herself in a novel written by a widower.

Jung Ho Yeon will play Kim’s role, a young woman who thinks working for Cate Blanchett’s Catherine Ravenscroft will be her breakthrough.

Alfonso Cuarón will serve as the writer, director, and executive producer of the upcoming series via Esperanto Filmoj. Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel will work with him as directors of photography.

Meanwhile, Blanchett, Gabriela Olmstead, David Levine, Dawn Olmstead, and Steve Golin will be the executive producers. Knight will be the co-executive producer.

Aside from Disclaimer, Jung Ho Yeon also expressed her desire to be part of the teen drama.

She told Entertainment Tonight that meeting Zendaya was a surreal moment. She also could not believe she was able to see the drama’s set after the Spider-Man: No Way Home star invited her to visit them.

"I visited the set of Euphoria, and it was so nice to see the set because it's been online. It was weird because I felt so comfortable," she said.

It remains unknown whether Jung Ho Yeon would be part of the series, but HBO’s Programming executive vice president Francesca Orsi has since revealed they are excited to continue their journey in Euphoria Season 3.
