Squid Game Season 2: Lee Jung Jae Hints at Character’s New Side, Wi Ha Joon Teases Possible Return

All eyes are now on Squid Game Season 2 after Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) hints at his return to the game to take his revenge after numerous people have died to win 45.6 billion won or $35 million. The actor has teased what fans can expect from the second outing.

Viewers hoping to see some of the first season’s characters return to Squid Game Season 2. But after a number of them have already died, will the likes of Hwang Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon), Front Man’s (Lee Byung Hun) brother, again be seen?

Gi Hun’s Return to Squid Game Season 2

Gi Hun has dramatically changed after winning the Squid Game in the first season. He has also changed the color of his hair to fiery red.

However, it looks like Gi Hun has no plans to change but wants revenge against the people running the Squid Game.

In the first season finale scene, he was seen tightly holding on to the business card that started it all as he made his way back, changing his mind about meeting his daughter again.

Squid Game Season 2 will just start filming next year, and just like fans, Lee Jung Jae has been kept in the dark about what may happen next.

Thankfully, the show’s creator, Hwang Dong Hyuk, has given little teasers on what may come next. Though nothing is shared about the subject or the character himself, Lee reveals he’s now excited to “perform the darker side” of his character, per GQ Magazine.

Will Wi Ha Joon Return to Squid Game Season 2?

Meanwhile, Wi Ha Joon became an instant favorite when he played the role of the brave policeman Hwang Jun Ho. However, many were surprised to see his demise after Front Man shot him and he fell off the cliff.

As there are theories that Hwang Jun Ho isn’t really dead, will Wi Ha Joon return to Squid Game Season 2?

In a different interview with GQ Korea, the actor teased he might or might not see the director soon.

“Personally, I think it would be nice to get a little bit,” he said. “It’s a piece of work that has blessed me so much that I wonder if there’s such a blessing in life.”

As the second season is expected to explore Front Man’s story, many hope Wi Ha Joon to return, even if it means it’s in flashback scenes with his sibling.
