There is little doubt that people are already expecting Squid Game Season 2. However, it looks like Netflix has even bigger plans for the successful South Korean series. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has just confirmed that he is currently in negotiations to work on a third season!

Squid Game was this year's breakthrough series, capturing people's attention and imagination with a familiar storyline being given an interesting twist. So how soon can we expect Squid Game Season 2? Hwang Dong-hyuk addressed the second season during an online interview with KBS. Interestingly, he also pointed out that Netflix is eager to pursue a third season as well.

"I'm in talks with Netflix over Season 2 as well as Season 3," Hwang said. He then added, "We will come to a conclusion any time soon."

That's great news for fans who were hoping that there would be more seasons of Squid Game to look forward to in the future. But what can we expect to happen in Season 2 and 3? Hwang had previously teased details on the new storyline, comparing it to Star Wars.

We may not know what will be happening in Squid Game Season 2 just yet but fans are hoping that it will mean more of Seong Gi-hun after the abrupt conclusion of the first season. In Season 1, Gi-hun won the game, got the money and was set to leave for the US. However, he turned his back on the chance to reunite with his daughter after calling that same number again.

The first season of Squid Game is still streaming on Netflix. The series has not yet been officially renewed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
