Squid Game: The Challenge's glass bridge game proved that teamwork is key. However, if there's one thing the original South Korean drama warned viewers, it's that you can never trust anyone. Here's why player 278 is in hot water in Squid Game: The Challenge after what happened during Episode 7.

Squid Game: The Challenge just released episodes 6-9 this week and though we've lost a couple more players along the way, the glass bridge game caught the fans' attention.

The glass bridge game requires teamwork because every player will be taking the same route, choosing between the tempered glass tile versus the fake glass that leads to your 'death'.

The difference between the game in the reality show and the drama series is how the order was decided.

In the K-drama, players were given the chance to blindly choose what number they go in. Meanwhile, the reality show had players choose the numbers for their fellow contestants.

Now, the remaining players on the Netflix reality show showed no sign of trouble or complaints about working together. But this was not the case between Squid Game: The Challenge players 301 (Trey) and 278 (Ashley) once the episode started.

Player 301 Took the Fall For the Team

The idea is that after the first player takes the correct step, the next player should take a step further to help the others.

When Trey (who got Number 3 for glass bridge) was leading the group, Ashley (Number 5) refused to take one for the team. Trey was asking her for help but she refused.

Player 301 decided to keep moving forward despite not knowing if he would win or not. He knew the glass bridge game was on a limited time and he wanted a fair chance for everyone.

Squid Game: The Challenge's player 278 seemingly showed no remorse or guilt for not making any sacrifices for the team, and even said, "I'm confused as hell because I don't remember agreeing [to the plan]. I'm not sacrificing myself when I already have a lower number."

As brave as player 301 was for moving forward on his own for the team, he eventually fell and lost in the game, leaving player 278 to decide her fate.

Player 278 eventually stepped forward to help the team, but only because she appeared to have been left with no choice after losing 301.

Only 17 players remain running for the $4.56 million prize by episode 8th, including player 278 (Ashley) who has still survived the game thus far.
