Squid Game Actor Lee Jung-Jae Reportedly in Negotiations with Marvel Studios

There's no denying that Western media has fully embraced the Korean fever and while the music world has already been dominated by notable Kpop acts for years now, it seems like Hollywood is also catching up on the craze. It turns out that the star of the phenomenal Kdrama Squid Game Lee Jung-jae is ready to conquer the global entertainment scene, proving that the success of his involvement in the Netflix series was no fluke.

According to the latest rumors, Jung-jae is currently in negotiations with Marvel Studios for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The oftentimes reliable Daniel Richtman first broke the news on his official Patreon site (via MarvelCrave) but details surrounding his possible role weren't disclosed. Hopefully, Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con panel with provide us with confirmation.

Should the Leee Jung-jae casting rumors be true, he won't be the first Korean star to crossover to the MCU. Last year, it was confirmed that another Korean actor, Park Seo-joon of Itaewon Class fame is also joining the MCU and will star in the upcoming The Marvels film, reportedly as an undisclosed hero.

Ma Dong-seok is also part of the Marvel film franchise, appearing as Gilgamesh in 2021's Eternals.
