Spongebob Squarepants Fans Can't Get Enough Of Tumbleweed Keanu Reeves

It seems like there's new Keanu Reeves news every week and it keeps getting better and better every time. This week, the world is blessed with the new trailer for The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run and behold, it features the John Wick star as a sagely sagebrush named Sage.

In the trailer, Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star set off to find Spongebob's pet snail Gary, who has been kidnapped. It's a difficult journey since they keep getting sidetracked but luckily, Sage (Reeves) is here to provide some truly awesome advice for the duo.

Reeves' (or at least, Reeves' head's) cameo is so unexpected and delightful that the internet just can't get enough of it.

Of course, some questioned how the writers came up with this idea in the first place.

But it's Keanu, so nobody's complaining.

This isn't Reeves' first unexpected and delightful cameo this year, either. He just happened to pop up in the Netflix rom-com Always Be My Maybe where he played himself (sort of) and had people hyped up for the video game Cyberpunk 2077 when he showed up in the trailer as Johnny Silverhand. Now that we know he's in the Spongebob movie, it's pretty obvious that we'll be seeing more of Reeves in the near future.

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run features the voices of Tom Kenny as Spongebob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles, Clancy Brown as Eugene H. Krabs, Mr. Lawrence as Sheldon J. Plankton, Jill Talley as Karen Plankton, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, Mary Jo Catlett as Mrs. Puff, and Lori Alan as Pearl Krabs. The film will premiere on May 22, 2020.
