[SPOILER] Returns in Uncanny X-Men #2 With a Brand-New Look

They might have gotten a shiny new #1 with the return of Uncanny X-Men but things haven't been too good for Marvel's premiere mutant superhero team. Once again facing extinction and prejudice, with an added mixture of death thrown in as well, things just aren't looking good for Jean Grey and her team of X-Men.

Until a Xavier came. Sort of. And no, we didn't spell savior wrong…

At the end of Uncanny X-Men #2, Charles Xavier's son and the star of Legion, ermm Legion, returned to the X-Men, looking rather sharp for some reason. Usually, he lets his long hair stand up and wears rather raggy clothes, which is what he wore in the last mini-series he appeared in. While his return was only a matter of time, no one ever expected to see him look like this.

Fans were actually treated to this look some time ago when the cover to Uncanny X-Men #3 was shown but most of us thought it was a new mutant. That doesn't appear to be the case and Legion now claims that he is going to save the day, which he could totally do but we're only two issues in on this ten-issue arc so….no.

Marvel recently confirmed that the events of the current Uncanny X-Men arc would lead to the Age of X-Man, an Age of Apocalypse-like storyline that seemingly has all the X-Men we know in an alternate reality. Details on this storyline haven't been given yet but Uncanny will continue, with Cyclops and Wolverine teaming up once again after previously being dead.

Uncanny X-Men #2 is available now.
