Rio and Latifa continue with their journey, ending up in the Forest of Spirits. In this week's episode, a new setting and characters are introduced. We also find out more about Rio's special powers.

Spirit Chronicles Episode 5 Recap
Rio is attacked by beast creatures, mistaking him to be Latifa's kidnapper. After things finally get clarified, the elders of the village offer to let Rio and Latifa stay for a while. It is revealed that the huge tree that Rio saw actually has a high-level magical barrier that's quite hard to detect. A spirit also resides within it—her name is Dryas.
Dryas meets Rio and tells him that there's a human-shaped high-level spirit sleeping inside him, which is a rare feat. She asks him if they formed a covenant, but Rio is unsure.
Rio and Latifa enjoy their life in the village. Rio learns more about spirit arts and other basic life knowledge from the village. Latifa is happy being surrounded by creatures of her kind.
Meanwhile, Reiss and an aspiring member of the Celestial Lion Brigade are off somewhere far from the Strahl region. They steal a griffin egg in the caves, which Reiss claims will strengthen the military.
