Tom Holland’s third installment of the Spider-Man film grossed $760.988 million in the U.S and unseated James Cameron’s Avatar record of $760 million. No Way Home grossed $1.8 Billion worldwide.

No Way Home
is still behind Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame which sits at number 2 on the list following Star Wars: The Force Awakens as number 1. 2019’s Avengers: Endgame grossed $860 Million and 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens grossed $935 Million. Making it on the top 3 is a very impressive new record for Marvel for landing two of their films into the top 3 of highest-grossing films at the domestic box office.

No Way Home is also the first film to hit a $1 Billion mark globally during the Covid-19 pandemic. If that’s not impressive enough, No Way Home is also the sixth highest-grossing film of all time. Thanks to the concept of the Multiverse, that brought back our former Spider-Men; Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Jon Watts directed No Way Home, following Peter Parker as he navigates his way to go back to his normal life after Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) revealed his identity. He comes to Doctor Strange for help and wants everyone to forget him. This is where the main conflict of the film happened as the spell that Doctor Strange will use opened portals to different universes that know Peter Parker. (SPOILER ALERT) This has caused former villains from different Spider-Man franchises to hunt Parker in his own universe. Dr. Octopus, Sandman, Lizard, Electro, and The Green Goblin came back as villains for the film. But if villains can come back, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield also came back to reprise their roles as our ‘friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.’

This is such an epic film and was labeled as ‘one of the greatest superhero cross-overs of all time’ following Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Seems like Marvel will continue to break records as their next film, Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, a sequel to 2016’s debut of Doctor Strange is next to break global records as it is rumored to have the most number of cameos in the history of Marvel. Multiverse of Madness will premiere on May 6, 2022.

For now, we can watch Tom Holland in his new adventure as Nathan Drake, in Sony’s Uncharted, now showing in theaters.
