The general audiences were introduced to Miles Morales with the highly regarded Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and with Sony pushing forward with their SUMC, it's only a matter of time before we get a live-action version of Miles on the big screen. Just in, we have someone offering himself up for the role.
Talking to Variety, Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us) has commented that it is his dream role to land the part of live-action Miles Morales. This is the interview:
At 22-year-old, I can imagine that Jerome could play Miles Morales, but unless Sony finds a way to speed up Miles' first live-action appearance, then Jerome could be too old to play Miles should that movie eventually get made.
If anything, a lot of people are thinking that the time-jump in Avengers: Endgame could lead to Miles' early appearance in the Spider-Man franchise. Let's not forget, Miles was hinted to be a young kid during the events of Homecoming, and with the five-year time jump, he could very well be in his teens in Far from Home, probably the same age as Peter Parker.
We don't know when Miles will eventually come to live-action, but for now, everyone is happy with the animated version of the character. The Into the Spider-Verse sequel is currently eyeing a release on April 8, 2022.
As for the live-action Sony films, Morbius is set to hit theaters on July 31.
