Spider-Man Theory Explains How Mysterio Survived Far From Home Battle

Marvel fans might have seen Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) passing away in the final battle with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in Spider-Man: Far From Home, however, many believe that Quentin Beck actually faked his death in the movie and that the Marvel illusionist is going to return in another Marvel movie.

Fans continue to discuss the possibility of Beck surviving in Far from Home and a recent theory on Reddit offers interesting "proof" to back up those claims.

According to Reddit user JeffersonTheVirgin, the clearest indicator that Mysterio survived the battle with Spider-Man is E.D.I.T.H.

"Every time Peter or Mysterio has a query or command for E.D.I.T.H., they speak her name (not unlike commanding Siri or Alexa) with two exceptions.1. When Mysterio commands all the drones to fire, ultimately causing his own "demise." 2. When Peter asks if Mysterio is really dead," the Marvel fan explained in his post on Reddit.

According to the theory, Mysterio created audio to imitate E.D.I.T.H.'s voice in Far from Home, warning Spider-Man of the risk of having all the drones fire.

This, in turn, provides a believable cause of death. So when Peter asks E.D.I.T.H. whether the death is real, an imitation gives Peter the confirmation.

"Peter doesn't say her name so the glasses don't pick up the query, and they don't light up like they do at other times," the Marvel fan goes on explaining.

It's an interesting fan theory. We don't really know the extent of E.D.I.T.H.'s capabilities – perhaps we'll get to see more of the AI in the third Spider-Man movie that Marvel is preparing for Sony and for Disney.

It's also very likely that we'll get to see more of Quentin Beck in the MCU. After all, would not a grand illusionist be capable of faking his own death?

Spider-Man 3 is set to release sometime November 2021.
