Spider-Man PS4: Silver Lining DLC Turns [Spoilers] Into an Anti-Hero

Those that bought The City That Never Sleeps can now purchase the final part, Silver Lining, as part of their complete Spider-Man PS4 experience. As part of the DLC's finale, it does a decent enough job at wrapping up some of the previous chapters' loose ends while also providing some challenging missions for players. However, it also falters in a number of ways, including how a certain character is treated and the follow-up to that.

SPOILERS for Silver Lining and Turf Wars in 3...2...1…

After being forced to go on leave after shooting Hammerhead in the, well, head, Yuri Watanabe has embraced her inner darkness and has gone full anti-hero. She still believes in justice but is no longer willing to follow the law after so experiencing so many losses.

During one of the game's side quests, Spider-Man collects some audio logs left by her where he finds out about a Maggia hitman that killed a number of key witnesses for a case and her friend. In the end, Peter finds the body of said hitman and talks to Yuri about it, who admits that killing felt good but will only do so on the side of justice.

Fans of the comics kind of saw this coming since Yuri becomes The Wraith, a vigilante who is on the side of the law at first but eventually becomes corrupted after witnessing too many unjust crimes. It seems like we will be seeing her as The Wraith in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 or whatever it ends up being called.

Still, many of us will be sad that Spider-Man won't have a police ally to annoy in the next game. We don't know why Insomniac Games decides to go this route but its pretty disappointing. At least the game is still fun.

Marvel's Spider-Man aka Spider-Man PS4 is available now, along with all the DLC.
