Spider-Man PS4: Insomniac Games Will Remove Awkward Marriage Proposal

What's more awkward than a marriage proposal? One that doesn't get accepted, that's what. Fans are more than familiar with the recent easter-egg in Spider-Man PS4 that had a gamer propose to his now ex-girlfriend after five years of being together. This is why many fans were quick to label this as the saddest video game easter-egg ever.

Kotaku was able to confirm that the sad easter-egg will be changed in a future update. The gamer in question, Tyler Schultz, suggested a tribute to his grandmother, who got him into Spider-Man in the first place, which is a fairly sweet gesture. Whether Insomniac Games actually follows up on this is going to be interesting but it would be nice.

Both sides have since spoken out on the relationship and what went down, so we won't be taking sides. Proposals are always a huge step in a relationship so it's sad when it doesn't happen. Public proposals, in particular, are really risky and it kind of forces the proposee to say yes, which is why I'm personally not a fan of them.

It's easy to compare this situation to some of the romance problems Peter Parker himself has gone through. Call it a case of the Parker Luck but we hope both parties end up being happy in the future.

Spider-Man PS4 is available now.
