Spider-Man PS4 Has The Most Depressing Easter-Egg

If you have a PS4, you have been playing Insomniac's acclaimed Spider-Man game. Turns out that the reviews weren't kidding and Spider-Man PS4 has ended up being a stellar title. While it might be a good time for those playing the game, it does have a painfully sad Easter-Egg for one particular gamer.

Tyler Schultz asked Insomniac Games if they could put a proposal for his girlfriend as an Easter-Egg in the game and the studio agreed. In one of the game's movie theaters, fans can see the words "Maddie I Love You" as one of the cinema's "films." Obviously, this was the proposal Schultz had planned but by the time the game came out, his girlfriend has left him after five years.

Schultz thanked Insomniac Games in a now-deleted YouTube video (via Polygon). The video reveals that his girlfriend left him for his brother after dating Schultz for five years.

We won't be taking any sides here since there are two sides to this story but there's no doubt that this in-game Easter-Egg is depressing. Jacinda Chew, the game's art director, apologized to Tyler and even offered to remove it from the game in a future update (hopefully with a New Game Plus hehe).

Spider-Man PS4 is available now.
