Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 Announcement Made Brian Michael Bendis a 'Proud Dad'

It looks like Miles Morales really is on top of the world these days. Not only was he the main star in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is the best movie to ever feature Spider-Man, but he will now star in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which has been dubbed as some sort of expanded remaster coming to the PS5 later this holiday season. Brian Michael Bendis, who co-created Miles for the now-defunct Ultimate Universe, is very happy for his fictional son.

On Instagram, Bendis shared a video of the upcoming PS5 game before quoting what Peter tells Miles in the trailer and then using the hashtag #prouddad. Considering how Miles has ended up being one of the most prominent comic book characters of color in recent memory, we can see why Bendis would be happy with the news.

Bendis co-created Miles Morales back in Ultimate Fallout #4 with artist Sara Pichelli, which showed us Miles' first night of crime-fighting. He would then write Miles for a fairly long time, before leaving Marvel Comics and starting anew in DC with Superman. Thankfully, despite the move, Miles has been used really well in Marvel Comics and the fact that he's getting his own video game now is simply awesome.

We're still waiting for more details on Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, with many of us wondering why this is more of expansion/remaster over a full sequel. Is it because it doesn't star Peter? Will they not address the Venom/Green Goblin threads teased during the end of Marvel's Spider-Man? We'll have to wait a bit longer for those answers true believers.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be coming to the PS5 later this year.
