Spider-Man: Life Story Retells Spider-Man's History in Real-Time

If there is one golden rule in comic books right now, it's that characters can never age from their most recognizable age, unless it's an alternate reality tale. Spider-Man has been living proof of this, with years of continuity erased just so that the character would never be married, which will always be a dumb move. However, Marvel has been changing that policy a bit with current scribe Nick Spencer seemingly removing One More Day from canon step-by-step.

But to those that want to see Spidey age in real-time, then Marvel has one hell of a mini-series for you; Spider-Man: Life Story. Written by Chip Zdarsky, who just finished a run with Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man, and drawn by Mark Bagley, who drew 101 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man, as well as a number of Amazing Spider-Man issues in the ‘90s, this series will retell Peter's story throughout the years as if he aged in real-time.

The first issue will be set in 1966 and is going to deal with Peter wondering what good his power and responsibility are when the Vietnam War is coming. Yeah, it's a pretty heavy topic and each issue will handle a different decade for Peter, so that's a huge selling point. This has to be one of the more unique Spider-Man stories out there and should be a must-buy for fans.

Spider-Man: Life Story #1 (of 6) comes out on March 2019.
