Marvel fans have been quite busy today. Sony released the official and the international trailers for Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the internet has been buzzing with excitement, gushing over Tom Holland's new Spider-Suits and the appearance of Spider-Man baddies like Sandman, the Elementals, and of course, Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio.
Scrutinizing over Sony's new teasers for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, fans noticed a touching Easter Egg laid out for Uncle Ben, and it's been breaking hearts online.
In the opening sequence for the official trailer for Far From Home, viewers get to see Peter Parker packing up getting ready for a class summer trip to Europe. Packing to head out, the young Avenger takes with him a couple of clothes and opts to leave behind his Spider suit because he's decided to go on vacation in a place which wouldn't necessarily need Spider-Man. While the scene doesn't necessarily involve any stunning scenes, a closer inspection of Peter's suitcase reveals a touching Uncle Ben Easter Egg.
Check out the initials engraved on the suitcase. BFP. The letters sound familiar, don't they? Ben Franklin Parker – the luggage belonged to Peter's uncle and was probably passed on to Peter before his death.
This is the first obvious Uncle Ben Easter Egg that we get from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Homecoming director Jon Watts initially wanted to add one in Homecoming, but the filmmaker decided against it saying that he didn't want a throwaway reference to the character.
But things are different now with Far Frome Home. We can only wonder what other references to Uncle Ben we might find in the Homecoming sequel.
