Now that Avengers: Endgame is approaching its last few weeks in cinemas, all eyes are starting to look forward to Marvel's final entry of the year, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Set right after the events of Endgame, Marvel's sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming will see Peter Parker (Tom Holland) dealing with the death of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) as he takes a trip outside of the US along with his classmates.
The film is expected to do well at the box office, with The Hollywood Reporter noting that Far From Home is already set for a $150 million plus debut. In fact, the film's early tracking prediction places the comic book movie at an opening gross of $154 million – a pretty great number for another Spider-man movie.
Of course, these estimates are very likely to increase as the film draws closer to its release date, especially when Sony makes its final marketing push for Far From Home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, some industry experts are already predicting that the film could earn more than $180 million during the six-day holiday during its release.
There's definitely a lot of excitement building up over Far From Home. Not only will be able to see the aftermath of Endgame through Peter's eyes, but we'll be introduced to Jake Gyllenhaal's version of Mysterio.
Sure, Mysterio seems to be a good guy in the trailers for Far From Home, but we're expecting the Spider-Man villain to show his true colors some point in the film.
Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres July 2, 2019.
