Spider-Man: Far from Home Director on Peter's Mindset in the Film

Marvel Studios has had a new take on the Spider-Man films in the sense that they have also become ‘coming-of-age' movies with superheroes, and it looks like that theme will continue when it comes to Spider-Man: Far from Home.

Talking to USA Today, director Jon Watts explained Peter's mindset when it comes to the film. He says:

"I have this memory of being a kid and wanting so desperately to be treated like an adult… And then there's one day, suddenly, where everyone does treat you like an adult and you start to think, ‘Oh, I liked it better when I was being treated like a kid. Could I go back?' But by the time that happened, you're never allowed to go back."

This time around, instead of Tony Stark, we have Nick Fury taking over the role of mentor now. Unlike Stark who has a more personal stake with Peter, it looks like Fury is going to have a more impersonal touch when it comes to Spider-Man, and it'll be interesting to see how that all turns out in this movie.

While Avengers: Endgame is set to end a whole new era for Marvel, it's still not considered the end of Marvel Phase 3that will be up to Spider-Man: Far from Home. With the Avengers films usually followed by more lighthearted flicks, I'm interested to see what's in store for Peter Parker this time around.

Peter Parker's relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury suddenly shows up in his hotel room. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury stop the evil Mysterio from wreaking havoc across the continent.

Spider-Man: Far from Home is set to come out July 2.
