This iteration would have seen Spider-Man and Daredevil team up after the latter became Peter Parker's lawyer during the events of No Way Home.
McKenna shared that the story would see Matt Murdock assisting Peter Parker with an unusual legal headache. The film would begin with Peter having originally left New York to act as a superhero in Southeast Asia, operating off a boat where he spent his downtime fixing the engine.
After seeing news coverage of an imposter using his superhero identity back home, Peter returned to New York, only to find the fake Spider-Man had trademarked the name and slapped him with a cease-and-desist. Peter then hired Matt Murdock to battle the legal issue.
However, they decided not to move forward with the story, and they took on a different idea, which we ended up seeing in the final version of the movie, where Spider-Man stayed in New York while Jean Grey was presented as the antagonist.
There was no mention of Daredevil or Matt Murdock in the film, although the character would have been in prison during the timeline as a result of the events of the second season finale of Daredevil: Born Again.
