Spider-Man Actor Tom Holland Makes Heartbreaking Post On How Indebted He Is To Stan Lee

There was a whole lot of heartbreak when Stan Lee passed away yesterday. The Marvel comic book legend had been such a big part of pop culture, fans just couldn't believe that he was gone after all his years of hard work in making Marvel the way that it is today. Taking to social media, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland decided to share his own tribute to Lee.

Posting on Instagram, Holland shared a photo of himself together with Lee during the press tour for Spider-Man: Homecoming and in the image's caption, the actor reminds everyone how much "indebted" we all are to the comic book legend.

"How many millions of us are indebted to this guy, none more so than me," the actor wrote on his post. "The father of Marvel has made so many people so incredibly happy. What a life and what a thing to have achieved. Rest in peace Stan."

Holland is only right to speak fondly of Lee. Marvel's cameo king had praised the young star's iteration of Spider-Man, saying that he was great as Spidey and that he had "the exact height and age I envisioned when I first wrote Spider-Man. Spidey was never supposed to be too large."

Hearing such praise from the comic book creator of your character is one of the highest honors that a comic book movie star can get, and Holland got it from Lee himself. Together with Steve Ditko, Lee co-created one of Marvel's wittiest superheroes – everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Holland is set to appear in Avengers 4 which premieres on May 3, 2019.
